Calgary Photography Studio Covid-19 Update
Response To The Current Covid-19 Crisis | Jillian Faulkner Photography
As we enter into August with an increase in active COVID-19 cases and many untraceable transmissions of COVID-19 in our city, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you all with some updated information regarding how I have adapted my portrait sessions both outdoors, on-location and in studio. I will continue to follow the recommenced guidelines provided by the Government of Alberta, Alberta Health Services and the Professional Photographers of Canada. All clients are required at the time of booking to sign my Covid-19 policy agreement and all session attendees will be required to fill out the Health Check Questionnaire on the day of the session before we get started.
In Calgary, a new bylaw will come into effect as of August 1, 2020 that will require mandatory face coverings in all indoor public spaces and businesses. Moving forward, a mask will be provided to you when you arrive at the studio and must be worn by all session attendees. Children that are under the age of two or anyone that has an underlying medical condition are exempt from having to wear a mask. Session attendees may remove their masks when being photographed, when also helping make their children smile and while social distancing during newborn sessions.
For the month of August, I have also made the decision to move all pre-session styling consultations and in-person ordering appointments to an online platform to help limit in-person contact. I am still taking new bookings for families, children and newborns but with limited time slots available to ensure a maximum of two client sessions per day with no more than one newborn session booked in a single day. Outdoor and studio sessions will continue to have strict protocols in place to ensure the safety and well-being of all session attendees.
At this time, studio sessions will only be booked for newborns, individual portrait sessions or for families with four or less family members. All extended family sessions will continue to only be booked outdoors and at locations that are quieter to help minimize contact with other members of the public. During your session, I will wear a mask for the full duration of the session and will use camera equipment that allows me to keep a safe social distance from you and your family. In addition, please try to avoid bringing anything that is non-essential with you to your session. When you have less to carry and manage, there is a lower risk of belongings becoming contaminated.
It is extremely important to me that we both feel safe during your portrait session. Please stay vigilant and if you or any family members attending the session are showing any symptoms of COVID-19, please stay home and reschedule your session. You are able to reschedule your session once without any additional fees up to 8am the morning of your session. If there happens to be another manditory shutdown of non-essential businesses in Calgary, your session deposit will be moved to a rescheduled date once we are able to reopen again. I strongly encourage all the families I photograph to follow the recommended guidelines put forward by the Government of Alberta and Alberta Health Services so we can fight this virus together.
I look forward to seeing you all again very soon, please continue to stay safe & healthy!
